After nearly 30 years in the flat, the conditions of the interior surfaces deteriorated drastically and the owner wishes to makeover the unit. As the existing broken-marble flooring is colourful and still in good condition, we decided to retain it as the main feature and rebuild the cabinets with clean and simplistic designs for a good balance. A new altar cabinet was constructed with an overhead so as to prevent staining of the ceiling by the smoke from the joss sticks. In addition, we revamped the old and messy kitchen completely by building new and cosy cabinets and flooring, and adding extra storage space for a neater and cleaner kitchen. The walls were also repainted, and resurfaced the flooring with water-repellent resilient tiles in the toilet and shower to reduce the inconvenience and cost of hacking.
